SYC Gathering of National heroes

We launched Ship 1959 at a wonderful event at the SYC Clubhouse called “A Gathering of National Heroes” which featured many luminaries from the African American boating community.

Camp Ordinary

In February 2019, Ship 1959 participated in the second annual Camp Ordinary hosted by Ship 2010. Camp Ordinary is designed to help Sea Scouts focus on the requirements to attain the Apprentice and Ordinary ranks. It was a brisk day on Middle River, with excellent instruction by senior Sea Scouts and adult Scouters, and participation by 7 Sea Scout Ships.
