about our ship
The Seafarers family (comprised of the Seafarers Yacht Club and the Seafarers Foundation) organized BSA Sea Scout Ship 1959 in Annapolis, Maryland in 2019. We promote a lifelong love of the sea, as both a career and for recreation. We were selected as the 2021 National Flagship. We invite you to join us!
what is Sea Scouts?
Sea Scouts was founded in England in 1910 an extension of Scouting. It was adopted by Boy Scouts of America in 1912, making it one of the oldest types of units in scouting. Sea Scouts is for boys and girls aged 14-21 (and with our Maritime Explorer Club we include boys and girls aged 10-13). Sea Scouting promotes seamanship, citizenship, personal fitness, leadership, and community service.
